Dr. Samantha Love says it’s all about the chemistry. A brainy psychology professor and researcher, Sam has based her entire academic career on the theory that what we call love is simply a chemical reaction. She is currently running a study to prove that her compatibility blood test reveals perfect matches—sort of like an organ donor, but for relationships. No romance required.

Along comes sexy literature professor, Dr. Ethan Quinn, who says it’s all about the romance. He thinks the pretty psychology professor has taken love and all its mysteries and reduced it to something as romantic as a cholesterol test, and he sets out to prove her theory wrong.

When Ethan signs up for her study, Sam discovers to her horror, that according to her compatibility test, they are a perfect match. Sam faces an existential crisis over her career and her research. If she believes in her science, shouldn’t it follow that she believes Ethan is her perfect mate? And if she doesn’t believe he’s her perfect mate, doesn’t that bring into question her research? Her compatibility test? Her reputation? And her very career?

As Sam struggles with her dilemma, Ethan pursues her with all the romantic tactics in his arsenal. Will Sam’s theories succumb to his challenge? Or will Ethan lose the battle for Sam’s heart?

Romancing Dr Love Sterling University Book 1 eBook Rebecca Heflin Paul Flagg

Dr. Samantha Love is skeptic when it comes to love. She believes in chemistry and hormones, but not in romance or the existence of soul mates. She's developed a blood test to discover good matches through certain chemicals. It's all very clinical and highly efficient, just like everything else in Sam's life. She's transferred to Sterling University to work on her research and so far she likes it there. She found a best friend and she feels at home at the faculty.

Ethan is a literature professor. For him love is about romance and deep connections and he wants to show Sam what it's like to be treasured and appreciated. However, she doesn't really seem to like what he's offering her. He's even signed up for her research and is doing everything he can to win Sam's heart. When Sam finds out the result of his test it's scaring her. Will they be a good match or is there too much at stake for Sam to date while pursuing a glorious academic career?

Romancing Dr. Love is an entertaining romantic story. Sam has quite a lot to prove. Her parents are famous and she's always associated with what they do and people judge her without knowing anything about her. They moved quite a lot and therefore Sam doesn't have any friends. She's been lonely and Sterling University changes that, but it also makes her scared. She's way too serious and I kept hoping Ethan would help her come out of her shell. She has so much to offer and is incredibly smart. Sam might be insecure in some areas, but she can stand up for herself, which makes her a great match for Ethan. He's got a wonderful cheeky sense of humor and I loved his kindness and caring nature. They complement one another and I couldn't wait to find out if Sam would give Ethan a fair chance.

Rebecca Heflin writes about intelligent people with fascinating careers. Sterling University is a terrific setting for romantic stories and I immediately loved reading about it. The vivid descriptions of the research the main characters are doing immediately made me interested. Rebecca Heflin clearly knows what she's writing about and that's one of the reasons I enjoyed Romancing Dr. Love so much. The topic of her story is fun and original, which is something I liked a lot. Romancing Dr. Love is a fabulous story and I can't wait to read the next Sterling University book.

Romancing Dr Love Sterling University Book 1 eBook Rebecca Heflin Paul Flagg Reviews

This was a well written, cute, easy read with an HEA. Even though it was fairly short the characters were well developed.
If you love a love story with some bumps you will not be able to put this one down. The kind of surprise ending will make you want to read more of these books.
I enjoyed the story line very much. The story of two people trying to find balance in a world that has rules and fighting chemistry that is documented how can you not follow your heart and tell your brain to shut up.
I enjoyed reading Samantha and Ethan's story. I think I liked Ethan a little more than Samantha--she was kind of hard to warm up to at first. This was a very sweet book, though, and I look forward to reading the next one.
This is the first book I've read from Rebecca Heflin. While the story was enjoyable, I did skim some sections that were bogged down with what seemed to be a science lesson about Dr. Love's field of study. The story was best when the focus was on the relationship between Ethan and Sam and less on the science. I enjoyed the character of Margaret, Ethan's mother and look forward to checking out the follow-up books featuring Sam's best friend, Delaney, and Ethan's best friend, Nash.
Once again, Ms. Heflin gives us a warm, charming, smart and sexy HEA with strong and well developed characters, great dialogue and a fun ride to romance. I loved this first novella of three in a series. In addition to an intriguing love story, this writer does a wonderful job developing secondary characters which results in fun, complex friendships and sometimes difficult relationships too, hmmm like in real life. A great quick escape!

Spoiler alert! Such a clever fresh idea! Wouldn't it be great if we joined a romance match making website and we could be introduced to someone our own lab work results show we have compatibility. This should definitely lower the playing field for singles. Well, that is just what Dr. Samantha Love can do when she says it’s all about the chemistry. It would be difficult not to be attracted to leading man Ethan who is also a professor and researcher. He is sweet, sexy, and knows what he wants. Of course when Sam discovers her own compatibility results, she comes face to face with her own dilemma of her heart. I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.
A stand alone read with a HEA. This is a fun, light-hearted romance. She is a professor with a plan to prove that long term relationships have nothing to do with love. He is a professor of literature and is a firm believer in romance and love. They agree to disagree. He falls for her and sets out to romance her. She is living down her parents reputation as sexual experts. Her name is Dr. Love so she gets a lot of grief from that alone. They are both working at a small town university and living with the gossip and rumors that go with the territory.

It is a fun, feel good read. Not real long so it is a quick read. It is not real sexy, about a 3 out of 10. I really enjoyed the story and I would definitely recommend it. I had to agree with his beliefs, I think romance is what keeps a marriage long term. Just watch older couples and see how he dotes on her every need and she in turns acts like he hung the moon. Read and see which you believe..

I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/7/17.
